About the Author
Gene Wright (1916-2004) moved to San Francisco in 1949 to experiment with a unique panoramic camera, photographing the city from every high angle. In the 1950s, he opened a photo studio in the heart of North Beach. A SF treasure, he was presented the Key to SF, and was named a living legend by the SF Board of Supervisors in 2002.
"Gene Wright, Photographer," the studio Gene opened at 1412 Grant Avenue in 1951, was located in SanFrancisco's North Beach neighborhood.
